Fellow Spotlight: Lura Health

Today we're highlighting a longtime program fellow of ours, Lura Health.

Lura's mission is to provide everyone with continual streams of critical health data, anytime, anywhere, to prevent health emergencies, manage chronic diseases, and achieve health goals.

Saliva is an incredible diagnostic fluid and is used to test over 1,000 health conditions. However, there is no way to continually analyze saliva as it relies on one-time sampling and lab analysis. Lura Health has developed the world's first salivary diagnostic, wearable sensor. The sensors are embedded in traditional orthodontic appliances like retainers and bands. They are worn in the mouth continually throughout the day to constantly measure analytes in saliva and provide real-time data streams to a smartphone.

Co-founders Daniel Weinstein and Noah Hill were recently recognized on the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list and attended the yearly summit.
The Forbes 30 Under 30 list aims to recognize, support, and unite the world's most promising and influential young innovators. This is a huge win, and NEMIC couldn't be more proud!

Daniel will be the keynote panelist at the MDG Boston Forum on Sensor Technology In The Medical Arena, Now and In the Future, on November 3. This forum is sure to be enlightening. Many recent innovative medical devices are 'wearables.' These devices dramatically impact healthcare as we go about our daily lives. Encompassing both regulated and consumer products, they increasingly enable health professionals to monitor user health status 24/7. Don't miss the chance to hear Daniel discuss how his startup negotiated the ever-complex fundraising process, medical device design, and contract manufacturer selection during COVID.
