Med Tech Leadership and Education Program Applications Now Open

NEMIC & Real Jobs Rhode Island announce an all-inclusive training program for the success of local entrepreneurs & startups

PROVIDENCE, RI, August 8, 2019 - In partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training’s Real Jobs Rhode Island (Real Jobs RI) initiative, the New England Medical Innovation Center (NEMIC) announces that applications are open for an immersive Medical Technology Leadership Program to educate, train, and grow the Med Tech ecosystem in Rhode Island. This program is free of charge to all Rhode Island residents and employees, however, we encourage all to apply.

Only 2% of digital health startups and even fewer Med Tech startups succeed because of lack of resources and knowledge about the medical device commercialization process. NEMIC created the Med Tech Leadership program to educate and train the Rhode Island workforce and to individually advise local startups on their business plans to decrease their susceptibility to failure, propel more innovative technologies to market, benefit patients worldwide, and grow and support the Rhode Island innovation ecosystem.

The Med Tech Leadership Program is created for innovators, entrepreneurs, clinicians, designers, industry professionals, students, and anyone with a visionary Med Tech idea. Created by NEMIC and their network of top subject matter experts (venture capitalists, CEO’s of leading medical device developers, experienced entrepreneurs and managing partners), this is the most relevant, immersive, and expansive Med Tech entrepreneurship curriculum created to date.

The Program is broken into three distinct programs to best fit the participants’  needs:

1. Business Plan Preparation

NEMIC team members and advisors will work with you one-on-one to evaluate and develop your business plan and transform it with actionable goals.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Apply Here.

2. Med Tech Education Program

Two immersive series of courses for entrepreneurs and industry professionals to teach participants how to develop a product within a highly regulated industry, examine current trends, and learn the necessary skills to build a fundable business and bring a technology to market.

Applications are now open. Apply Here.

3. Hands-on Workshops

Our workshop series includes an assortment of carefully curated workshops that are centered on strategizing key activities through hands-on projects that reinforce your learned knowledge and apply it directly to your business.
