NEMIC awarded “Real Jobs RI” implementation grant to cultivate the next generation of medical leaders and innovators

PROVIDENCE, RI, April 9, 2019 – The Foundation for New England Medical Innovation Center (NEMIC) was recognized yesterday as a recipient of the “Real Jobs RI” Implementation Grant to cultivate and educate the future leaders of medical technologies and digital health.  NEMIC aims to provide leadership training to small businesses, scientists, researchers, and students in local universities through an all-inclusive MedTech training program with the goal to bridge the gap between workforce and economic development in a key Rhode Island economic segment.

“NEMIC is proud to partner with Real Jobs Rhode Island our other community partners to fill a significant gap in this field by helping small MedTech businesses understand how to work in this highly regulated space,” said Aidan Petrie, NEMIC Managing Partner.  The training program is supported by Lifespan Health System, Ximedica, Brown University, Bryant University, the University of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island School of Design, MassChallenge RI and other private entities.  “We greatly appreciate our partner’s engagement and support throughout the application process.  Their active participation is crucial to the success of this program and the economic development of Rhode Island,” Lydia Shin Schroter, Managing Partner of NEMIC said.  NEMIC is now looking for individuals and small businesses who show promise and dedication to apply to this training program.  Stay up to date with NEMIC and this program by signing up for their email list here.
