NEMIC Entrepreneur in Residence wins $1,500 from Práctico Innovation

Congratulations to one of our entrepreneurs in residence Roberta Powell for winning one of the five $1,500 awards from Práctico Innovation for her company VeerSAFE, last week.

VeerSAFE is a digital health education platform targeting the 3.5M US commercial truck drivers, who are invariably at higher risk to develop or exacerbate chronic conditions, including diabetes, sleep apnea, obesity and cardiovascular disease. VeerSAFE provides comprehensive, disease-specific education on signs and symptoms recognition and self-management techniques. Thereby, VeerSAFE has the potential to significantly reduce the risk of health complications, employee absenteeism and truck accidents.
